This collaborative venture between St Vincent’s Health Australia and the Griffith and surrounding communities was blessed, opened and celebrated on 22-24 September 2016.
The celebrations included the opening Mass, the blessing of the Chapel and Board Room on
22 September, official opening of the hospital and Learning Centre and a cocktail party on
23 September, and an Open Day for the community on 24 September.
There was much excitement in the community with the functions attended by Bishop Gerard Hanna
of Wagga Wagga, Federal Minister for Health Susan Ley, Trustees Dr Tessa Ho and Sr Helen Clarke rsc, Sisters of Charity, SVHA Board Chair Paul Robertson and CEO Toby Hall, Charles Curran AC and Richard Haddock AM from St Vincent’s Curran Foundation, senior leaders from SVHA and local mayors, civil dignitaries and large numbers from the community.
