Safe Haven, an initiative of the Sisters of Charity Outreach, provides short-term crisis accommodation and support for women and children escaping domestic violence. This important service reached its twenty-one year milestone in May this year.
The video below was produced to both inform and encourage victims of domestic violence to reach out and get the help they need.
This video will be widely distributed and will also be a useful tool for service providers beyond Safe Haven, including other organisations that assist domestic violence victims – police units, hospital social workers, health networks and frontline staff at the Domestic Violence Line.
Under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries, Sisters of Charity celebrates an ongoing commitment to Outreach social services programs. We want to take this opportunity to both recognise and thank all staff, volunteers and supporters whose efforts allow each of these Outreach programs to continue to provide much needed social services for families in crisis.
