Venerable Mary Aikenhead Oration

The Venerable Mary Aikenhead Oration is an event during which Mary Aikenhead Ministries shares widely with others the legacy of our namesake. We aim to create a deeper understanding of the charism and founding story of Mary Aikenhead and the Religious Sisters of Charity. It is important to know and honour the significant spiritual legacy that has inspired, served and helped to shape the Catholic Church across the world and particularly in Australia. Mary Aikenhead was ahead of her time, seeking to challenge the world around her by works of faith, seeking to be a contemplative in action.

In examining our times through the lens of the story of Mary Aikenhead, we hope to contribute to the intellectual life of the Australian Church and continue her legacy.
